VP Software Engineering at Bola AI
Bola AI is seeking a visionary and experienced Vice President of Software Engineering to lead our innovative engineering team in Huntington Beach, CA. As a key member of our leadership team, you will drive the strategic direction of our software development efforts, overseeing the creation of cutting-edge Voice-AI solutions that are transforming dental practices across the United States. This hybrid role offers the flexibility to work remotely part-time while collaborating on-site with a dynamic and talented team.
Responsibilities
- Define and execute the strategic vision for Bola AI’s software engineering team to ensure alignment with company goals.
- Oversee the development, deployment, and maintenance of scalable, secure, and reliable software products.
- Manage and mentor engineering teams, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and excellence.
- Collaborate with product management and executive leadership to prioritize and deliver high-impact initiatives.
- Ensure adherence to software development best practices, including coding standards, testing, and documentation.
- Drive continuous improvement in software performance, scalability, and user experience.
- Evaluate emerging technologies and integrate them into the development process as appropriate.
- Represent engineering in strategic discussions with partners and stakeholders.
- Develop and manage departmental budgets, resource allocation, and hiring plans.
Qualifications
- 10+ years of software engineering experience, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
- Proven track record of leading large-scale software projects and managing cross-functional teams.
- Expertise in the MERN stack (MySQL, Express.js, React.js, Node.js), API design, and database architecture.
- Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure and containerization technologies like Docker.
- Strong understanding of software development methodologies, including Agile practices.
- Exceptional communication, leadership, and decision-making skills.
- Preferred: Experience in HealthTech or with AI-language technologies.
- Preferred: Advanced knowledge of React-Native and its ecosystem.
